ICEX-BREXIT plan to support businesses exporting to the UK

On April 12, 2023, news of the new subsides was published in the BOE (Spain´s Official State Publication). The Spanish Institute of Foreign Trade, ICEX added an update to their webpage to guide business througth the process of applying for the available subsidies.


The budget for these subsidies comes to a total 4 million euros, and is financed by the European Commission's Brexit Adjustment Reserve (BAR) funds.


The deadline applying for the subsidies closes on the 12th of June this year.

Some of the types of expenses that can be included in the subsidy application include the following:

  • Advice relating to new labeling and packaging requirements.

  • Required certifications for your products.

  • The cost of certifications required for your products.

  • Adaptation of product labeling and packaging to the UK requirements.

  • Registration of trademarks, licenses, applications and visas for your employees.

  • Registration of patents and trademarks.

  • Approvals and certifications for the target market.

  • Other concepts.
